Cable ties.
Some hard plastics can be recycled or reused, but generally, hard plastic cable ties are bin bound after they have served their purpose around the house or workplace.

It's like the multi dimensional duct tape. No surfaces for the tape to stick to? Squeeze it together with an extra tight cable tie. But what do we do with these clicky little fellas once they've served their purpose? It's the red bin, usually (unless you have reusable cable ties - get reusable cable ties!)
